I have arrived in Ubud, Bali and I am here for the second time in my life. The first time was in 1998 on my first backpacking trip. It is almost hard to believe that it was almost half a lifetime ago, 19 years ago to be precise. And actually I am not coming back because I enjoyed it so much back then. To be honest, when I left Bali in 1998 I did not really understand what all the fuss was about, because I did not think it was that exceptional.
Everyone deserves a second chance
It took me some time to figure out where I wanted to go after Malaysia. Not that I couldn’t have stayed longer, Malaysia is a lovely place and there are still lots to explore, but some time you just feel that it is right to switch place. And since I am already in South East Asia and so many people fall in love with Bali I thought I might explore the island a bit again. Who knows, both Ubud and I might have changed a bit since last time?
Away but home
Since I started travelling in January I have been moving quite slow. I have not been jumping around in order to explore everything but have instead sometimes stayed in places for up to two weeks. Still it becomes a bit tiring to pack up all my belongings and change place on almost at least a weekly basis. So I thought that I would try something new (after all this year is about exploring and learning) and rent a home. So this is my house! I have decided to just live here for a bit, meet some new people and enjoy a bit of yoga and other spiritual adventures. I will give it at least a month and the we will see what happens next.
