I just planned my life until May 2020…

I have just made a commitment. Quite a long one. And no, it will not be spending more time at the beach. At least not now. Instead I will stay in Sweden and spend more time with the little machine on the table.

IT and programming
However much I love traveling, I knew it could not last forever. And let’s face it, after two years without an income, the time has come for me to think about that part as well. But I was not super excited about going back to my old job so I decided to try something new. And it all happened quite fast… In early November I sent an application for an IT course held by a company that needs people in this area. I got offered a place. And I decided to accept. Starting in late January I will take a twelve week intensive course, mainly in the programming language of JavaScript, in order to work as an IT consultant after that. The training is free of charge for me as long as I stay and work for the company for one year. I see this as a great opportunity to learn some new skills while getting a paycheck at the same time! So from now on I might turn into a programming nerd…

I have a dream
I don’t know where this change will take me. I don’t even know if it will suit me. But I do know that I want to build personal skills that can be useful in many ways. And I do know that I am looking for a life where I hopefully can be more flexible with regards to when and where I work. Cause there is still a little nomad inside of me that want to experience life in different ways. And I do have some dreams for the future. They might include working remotely from a country side cottage in Sweden, from a warmer country during cold winters, from a campervan exploring Europe or in parallel while volunteering at a dog shelter. Or it might be something completely different. What is certain is that life always comes with lots of surprises.

“The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.”
